Nevada came out on top of Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday but won by a narrow margin

The Nevada Game Control Board (NGCB) reported that the big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers cost $185.6 million. The handle easily set a new record, beating the previous all-time record of $179.8 million set in 2022 when the Los Angeles Rams played the Cincinnati Bengals.

Despite the historic bet, the two-point underdog Chiefs in overtime win over the Niners were not what the book cheered.

The public, as well as some new bettors lured into the NFL through Taylor Swift's presence, supported the defending champion. It was a winning bet.

Nevada's dividend rate was just $6.8 million out of $185.6 million, meaning the win rate was only 3.7%. The NGCB said 182 sports betting venues took money from this year's Super Bowl.

For comparison, Sportsbook reported a retention rate of nearly 6% for all sports in the 12 months to December 2023.

a successful debut

Las Vegas was shunned by the NFL before the U.S. Supreme Court overturned a federal ban in May 2018 that restricted single-game sports betting to Nevada. The league believed the state's widespread sports gambling would jeopardize the integrity of the game and threaten players, team staff and officials.

The NFL accepted sports betting in the aftermath of the SCOTCUS decision. Owners approved Mark Davis' hopes of relocating the Raiders franchise to Las Vegas, and a $1.9 billion stadium was built just west of Streep.

The Raiders moved to Southern Nevada ahead of the 2020 season. A year later, the NFL awarded Allegiant Stadium the 2024 Super Bowl in 2021, after fans embraced Las Vegas and saw the nationwide expansion of sports betting help increase fan engagement and viewership.

Of course, there were also concerns about hosting big events in the so-called Sin City. But apart from a few minor scandals, Super Bowl LVIII was a major success for the town.

"The Nevada Gaming Control Board congratulates and thanks all relevant stakeholders for their successful delivery of such a spectacular event from the state of Nevada," said Kirk Hendrick, chairman of the NGCB.

Since the NGCB began tracking betting results on the big game in 1991, Nevada's dividend payout ratio determiners are now 31-2.

The best results of the books over the past decade came in the 2020 Super Bowl, when the Chiefs beat the 49ers 31-20. The oddsmakers staked 12.1 percent of their $154.7 million win for more than $18.7 million.

record rating

With record bets in Nevada, Super Bowl LVIII has led to record television ratings. Nielsen and Adobe Analytics said Monday's Sunday broadcast was the most-watched show in television history. Sunday's event averaged 123.4 million viewers, breaking the previous peak of 115.1 million viewers for last year's Chiefs-Philadelphia Eagles game.

CBS aired the Super Bowl, where Nickelodeon and Univision provided alternative broadcasts. The big game was streamed on Paramount+ and the NFL's digital platforms. 슬롯사이트 순위
